🌏 A Wonder of the World

The Great Barrier Reef isn’t just one continuous reef; it’s a complex ecosystem comprising over 2900 reefs and 900 islands. It holds the title of the largest reef structure and marine park globally, so vast that it’s visible from the moon!

🌅 A Geological Marvel

The Great Barrier Reef began its growth around 18 million years ago. Geological events like Ice Ages and fluctuating seawater levels have interrupted its growth. The reefs we encounter today have developed atop older reef platforms over the last 8000 years.
